Beta Analytic Supports British Sedimentological Research Group Annual Conference 2010

Radiocarbon dating lab Beta Analytic is one of the sponsors of the British Sedimentological Research Group (BSRG) Annual Conference to be held at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, from December 19 to December 21, 2010. Dr. Russell Wynn is the conference convenor.

Aside from plenary and poster sessions, the three-day event also includes an icebreaker reception with guest speakers Prof. Phil Weaver (NOCS), Dr. Gill Apps (BP Houston), and Dr. Jeff Peakall (University of Leeds); a conference dinner at the historic Beaulieu Abbey; a field trip to the Isle of Wight to examine exposed sedimentary facies; and core workshops hosted by the British Ocean Sediment Core Facility.

An affiliate of The Geological Society of London, the BSRG is an informal group composed of academics, graduate and postgraduate students, and geologists working in the petroleum and allied industries. Members of the group are from the UK and other countries around the world. BSRG promotes all aspects of sedimentology and provides a community for those involved in teaching and research. The BSRG is also connected with the International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS) and the Society for Sedimentary Geology (SEPM).
